Ganna Shekunova is a psychoanalytically oriented practitioner based in Ireland. She holds a Master's degree in Psychology from the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, a degree in Practical Psychology and Psychoanalysis from the International Institute of Deep Psychology in Kyiv, and an earlier degree in Physiology and Biology from Shevchenko University. In Ireland, she has also completed QQI studies in Intellectual Disability Studies, Nutrition, Sports Therapy & Injury Management, and Animal Care.
My work has developed across private psychoanalytic practice, child-focused educational work, and social care. From 2016 to 2022 I ran Smile Children's Studio in Kyiv, working with children, teenagers, and adults. Since September 2024 I have worked in Autism and Disability Services as a Social Care Worker in Ireland, supporting individuals in daily life, emotional wellbeing, and structured care.
My clinical and academic interests centre on childhood, adolescence, and adulthood — especially where distress appears through anxiety, conflict, repetition, withdrawal, or relational difficulty. My work is grounded in psychoanalytic practice, drawing on the clinical tradition built through generations of work with children, adolescents, and institutions. A psychoanalytic orientation informs not only how I listen, but how I understand what begins to emerge in sessions.
I am a member of the Ukrainian Association of Psychoanalysis (UAP) and hold collective membership in ЄКПП — European Federation of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (UCPP).
